But in Turkey, you have an even bigger problem. Since September 12, the people behind Shibariturk.com have been under house arrest by means of an ankle monitor. Solely because they sell Shibari merchandise and give workshops online.
The Turkish government is acting idiotically at all; Turkey officially withdrew from the on July 1, 2021.Istanbul Convention , the European Convention against violence against women and domestic violence. So in other words, they condone violence against women. But BDSM involving mutual consent is a crime! Can you still follow? Support these people!

Today, our electronic ankle monitors will be fitted. Or at least, they will try again.
Since our house arrest began on September 12, there have already been two attempts to fit us with electronic ankle monitors. One could not be completed because of technical problems with the system, and another because there were not enough monitoring devices available.
Today, electronic ankle monitors are supposed to be fitted to Irida, @Lenasstory and @anon_BDSM. At least, they are going to try once again.
@Jjanet ‘ s situation is a little different. During this process, she was held consecutively at four different detention locations. She was then taken to Ankara for questioning. Only three days after returning to Istanbul, she was placed under house arrest again. Three days later, she underwent surgery and spent approximately a week in hospital. Because we are also under house arrest, we were unable to accompany Janet during her surgery and hospital stay; we were not granted permission to do so. After everything she has been through, and because of her current health situation, they will not fit her with an electronic ankle monitor for the time being.
It is difficult to describe how quickly, and how strangely, our lives have changed over the past few weeks. We are dealing with ongoing legal proceedings while our ability to work, move freely, and continue our everyday lives has been severely restricted. At the same time, we are trying to figure out how we are supposed to keep ourselves and our community standing through all of this.
But there is one thing we know now:
We are not alone.
We see the messages coming from different parts of the world. We see the solidarity events. We see people gathering and organizing for us. And precisely at a time when our living conditions have become so difficult, we will continue trying to make what we are experiencing visible and to make our voices heard.
Later today, what they put around our ankles will not be a shackle of shame.
For us, it will be a medal.
A medal that bears witness to the pressure and violence we have experienced. A reminder that, despite everything, we are still here, still speaking, and still refusing to give up.
Perhaps one of the things that makes us saddest in all of this is that our ShibariTurkey flags were also taken from our home.
They even âarrestedâ our cute little bunny. đ°đ
Our little bunny, sitting peacefully in our home with a rainbow behind it, was confiscated too.
Its only âcrimeâ was having a rainbow behind it.
But donât worry.
The bunny wonât give up either. And neither will we.
They can put monitors around our ankles. They can take our belongings. They can restrict where we can go.
But we will continue telling our story. We will continue being visible, protecting one another, and keeping the community we have built alive.
Because we also know now that this is no longer only our story.
Everyone who stands beside us, shares our voices, organizes an event for us, sends us a message, or simply tells us from another part of the world that âyou are not aloneâ has become part of this story.
