UK – A candidate looking to get elected as a new North Wales MP is the author of best-selling bondage novels “steamier than Fifty Shades”.
Steffie Williams Roberts, 27, is looking to claim the Arfon seat for the Labour Party in December. Under her pen name Steffie Dawn, she has written a number of racy books that have been in the Amazon Erotica Top 10.
They focus on BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadism and Masochism). Her seven-part series, A Week With My Romanian was published in 2013.
It follows a submissive who has been sharing an online relationship with an Eastern European dominant.
The first – Meeting My Master – shot to number three on the Amazon Erotica Bestseller List within six weeks.
One reviewer wrote: “This book is emotional and very steamy. It’s not for you if you are prudish! This book made my eyes bug out and my mouth drop open several times. You better get on board the ‘Romanian Master Train’.”
Speaking to North Wales Live, step-mother-of-two Steffie, who lives with her wife in Bangor, said her work was a “hobby that will always be part of me”. She added: “I enjoy expressing myself.”
Born in Rhiwlas, Bangor, Mrs Williams Roberts grew up on the Maesgeirchen Estate and studied Law at University before joining the Labour party in 2015.
She says her priority policy is to ensure there is fairer funding in Wales in the future.
“It’s time for real change. I’ve seen public services starved of money over the years,” she said.
“It’s all about opportunities, youth and life chances. We need proper funding for Wales.
“I’m a real change for Arfon – I’m a stronger and newer voice.”
Mrs Williams Roberts, who still lives in Bangor with her wife and children, is also a former beauty pageant contestant, with qualifications in Dance and Performing Arts.
She succeeded Mary Griffiths Clarke as the Labour candidate. Ms Griffiths Clarke announced last week that she no longer planned to run.
Mrs Williams Roberts is up against Plaid Cymru‘s Hywel Williams and the Brexit Party’s Gary Gribben.

JAPAN – A prank video posted on social media by a higher-ranked sumo wrestler of a lower-ranked wrestler tied up, gagged and trying to free himself drew harsh criticism.
The Japan Sumo Association deemed the footage inappropriate and is calling on its members including wrestlers and stablemasters to refrain from posting on their private social networking sites.
The video footage was put up by 25-year-old komusubi Abi, in which juryo wrestler Wakamotoharu, a friend of Abi a year older than him, is bound and gagged with tape around his legs and his hands tied.

In a separate video that Wakamotoharu posted on his SNS account, Abi is given a similar “rough deal.”
On Nov. 9, Abi and Wakamotoharu visited the Fukuoka Kokusai Center, the venue for the current Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament, and apologized to JSA Chairman Hakkaku, former yokozuna Hokutoumi, and other executives.
They submitted statements repenting their misdeed, which were required by the JSA.
“I should have been more self-aware. I will change my attitude,” Abi told reporters.
Kagamiyama, the former sekiwake Tagaryu, who is in charge of crisis management at the JSA, said that he advised the two wrestlers, “As you both are among the leading faces of sumo, behave as role models for younger wrestlers.”
On Nov. 6, the JSA told its members to exercise caution when posting on their private SNS accounts.
“As it is hard to oversee all posts by its members, the JSA decided to ask them to refrain from posting,” an official said.
Official accounts of each sumo stable on social networking sites are not targeted for the measure.
Both Abi and Wakamotoharu are competing in the 15-day Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament, which started on Nov. 10. They both lost their bouts on the opening day.
Social media is popular among sumo wrestlers. Yokozuna Hakuho, komusubi Hokutofuji and No. 14 maegashira Terutsuyoshi all have Twitter accounts, with Hakuho having more than 123,000 followers.

Wetherspoons app allows anyone with an iPhone or Android to order drinks to their table without leaving their seat.
Anyone with access to the app can send food and drink to a person if they know which Wetherspoons a person is in and where they are sitting.
Financial dominatrix’ – known on Twitter as Goddesses – appear to be using the function to their advantage by sharing location information to bag themselves a free night out.
In a Tweet aimed at thousands of followers, one financial dominatrix said: “Good morning… what little b***h is going to empty their wallets for me at spoons?”
