UK – The Express’s Sam Lister reveals that during Theresa May’s campaign the Tory party placed their journalists in a hotel with a bondage kit in the wardrobe.
Speaking on The Division Bell podcast, she said:“I was thinking back to 2017, the Theresa May campaign, and because I was on that battle bus we started the day at 5 a.m.
“It’s Smithfield Market, which for anyone who’s not familiar, is a meat market, so you have to have a bit of a strong stomach.
“You’ve just woken up and you’re confronted by lots of lovely…you know, hanging carcasses.”
Sam revealed to Division Bell’s co-host John Stevens how there were “butchers all over the place with their white smocks covered in blood.”
“Poor Theresa May is trying to make conversation and one particularly bloody butcher shouts ‘Vote Labour!’ and some others boo.”
Sam’s day got even more unusual when the journalists retired to their swanky hotel in the evening.
She said: “Because you do so many visits in the last day, and then you have to be up early the next day to watch the leader you are following go and vote whichever party you’re with, sort out some accommodation and the travel and all that to get you there.”
It was a very last minute booking so Sam suspects that “they were struggling to find somewhere to put us so we ended up being really upgraded.”
Whilst she was hanging up her outfit for the next day so she could “spring up and be ready” she “found this little parcel and opened it up and it was this bondage pack, complete with a whip!”
As well as the bondage kit, the hotel had a “big table full of every kind of bottle of alcohol you could ever wish to have” and a “huge bed, all beautifully decorated”.
It was presumably a coincidence that the hotel provided the BDSM starter pack but Sam joked “that is where the Tory party put us on the final night, so make of that what you will!”
