UK – The fate of HBO and BBC hit series Industry has been revealed after Kit Harington divided fans with an outrageous fetish scene in the shower.
English actor Kit, 36, has proven to be the programme’s good luck charm after joining for series three – because Industry has been renewed for a fourth series.
Industry’s creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay said in a statement on Thursday: ‘We are beyond thrilled and grateful to HBO, the incredible team at Bad Wolf and our phenomenal cast and crew for their continued belief in Industry and for allowing us to grow as creators, writers and now directors whilst taking the show to new heights.
‘We can’t wait to dive deeper and deliver the best season yet in season four.’
Series three proved to be a defining one for Industry, a drama about young inner-city bankers, with Kit’s outrageous sex scene with Amy Winehouse biopic actress Marisa Abela making headlines.
The scene featured his character begging Marisa’s Yasmin to give him a ‘golden shower’ – and set tongues wagging on social media.
Kit plays Sir Henry Muck, the founder and CEO of a green tech company who has an X-rated kink.
In the episode that aired on September 8, Sir Henry asks Yasmin: ‘Can you do something for me? Can you be vulnerable with me if I’m vulnerable with you?
‘Can you relieve yourself on me?’
Despite Yasmin’s initial understable apprehension, urine is soon seen trickling down Sir Henry’s leg and he gleams with pleasure, before adding: ‘Thank you for trusting me.’
Following its renewal, Industry’s executive producer Jane Tranter celebrated the ‘extraordinary journey’ of Industry from its commission eight years ago to its critical acclaim over three series.
She said: ‘HBO’s unswerving belief in Mickey, Konrad, the cast and the whole creative team at Bad Wolf is a huge vote of confidence in uncertain times.’
‘This commitment to nurturing new talent and investment in quality programming has resulted in a show we are all exceptionally proud of. Bad Wolf cannot wait to get everyone back to Wolf Studios Wales to take Industry to even greater heights.’
The first two seasons of Industry are available to stream now on the BBC iPlayer. The third season debuts on the iPlayer and BBC One on Tuesday, October 1.
Like series one and two, series three of Industry has eight episodes and the finale airs in the US on September 29.
Industry premiered on 9 November 2020 on HBO in the United States, and on 10 November 2020 on BBC Two in the United Kingdom.
The series also stars Myha’la, Harry Lawtey, and Ken Leung.
