USA – NEW YORK – New York duo Heavy Halo have a masochistic world view, and they’re putting it on full display through the release of their industrialized new single, “Damage Me.”

Comprising vocalist-guitarist McKeever and producer Gosteffects, the outfit’s latest track leans into chunky riffs and EBM-panicked beatwork. Thematically, McKeever and guest singer Georgi are gliding above that tense backdrop with nihilistic yet melodic vocals about diving headfirst into the chaos that surrounds us every day.

“‘Damage Me’ is a song about fucking each other because the world is fucked-up. Escaping the guillotine of reality by diving into each other in mutual ecstatic servitude,” McKeever explained in a statement, adding of the source inspiration behind the tune, “I had all the lyrics except the hook but then I went to a grimy Bushwick punk show, saw a bunch of beautiful people in spikes and chains, and wanted someone to ‘damage me.’”

The music video, which was directed by Max Nova, somewhat recreates the feel of a underground industrial party performance — with Heavy Halo surrounded by a bunch of pogoing fans —  but also fills the screen with pseudo-subliminal biohazard symbols and shots of McKeever, Gosteffects and Georgi either fondling old CRT screens or absorbing mind-altering TV footage Ludivico Technique-style.

“Damage Me” is set to be the title track to Heavy Halo’s upcoming album, Damaged Dream, which will be released sometime in 2025 via Silent Pendulum Records and is available for pre-order now. The record follows a self-titled full-length from 2021.

While the details have yet to be revealed in full, the collection was recorded, mixed and mastered entirely at Gosteffects’ own Spellsound Studios, which happens to be located in a historic former hospital in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
