USA – Bonding is a Netflix show that has won several fans for its different take on the BDSM community. It follows a New York-based dominatrix and her gay best friend and the duo is called Mistress May and Master Cater. Netflix described the show: Chains, whips, and hilarious quips! For grad student/dominatrix Tiff (Zoe Levin) and her cash-strapped gay best friend Pete (Brendan Scannell), S&M is a business, not a pleasure. Well, maybe there’s a little pleasure. Their professional relationship redefines their friendship, but more importantly, helps them find themselves. According to E! Online, the dark comedy first hit Netflix in April 2019 and is loosely based on creator and Barry actor Rightor Doyle’s experience working as a dominatrix bouncer. Each episode in the series runs under 20 minutes making it an easy show to binge-watch. The show explores Tiffany and Peter’s friendship and looks into the emotional aspect of the community as well. Although it did receive some flak for its first season as it didn’t take topics like consent and boundaries into careful consideration. But according to Bustle, the second season has been “praised for leaning less into humor and more into its emotional core.” So will fans get a third season?

Will There Be ‘Bonding’ Season 3?

Unfortunately, ‘Bonding’ won’t be returning for season 3. The show is among the list of Netflix shows canceled last year. As usual, Netflix did not reveal the reason behind the cancelation. It also seems unlikely for the show to be picked up by another studio/streamer. Hence, we now have to say our last goodbye to Tiff and Pete.

‘Bonding’ Season 2 Plot: What Was The Last Season All About?

Written, directed and executive produced by Rightor Doyle, the show took more inspiration and lessons from the BDSM community directly for season 2, so it’s likely that season 3 will explore more emotional aspects of its storyline. “We over here at Bonding couldn’t be prouder or more excited to bring you another chapter in the story of Tiff & Pete with Season 2,” said Doyle. “We are also thrilled to be working with the BDSM community to make this season even richer and more exciting than ever before. Thank you to Netflix and you, our viewers all over the world for getting all tied up in our show. We are so grateful you loved and watched and watched some more. See you soon with more Bonding!”
