UK = EDINBURGH -REAL-LIFE dominatrix Lane Kewderis admits she will be on the hunt for new clients when she brings her show Sex Job to the Fringe for the first time.
New York-based Lane has worked in Financial Domination – known as Findom – where men allow her access to their bank account as part of their submissive fetish.

And after keeping it a secret for years, Lane has now turned her day job into a stand-up routine which will debut at Edinburgh’s Underbelly venue.
Lane says: “The show is all about my journey through Findom with real, wild and interesting stories.
“I also teach the audience how to do Findom and let’s just say that real money might get involved – so some folk might walk away a little bit richer than when they came in.”
She adds: “I also play a game show called ‘Did I do that for money?’
“An example? Well I ask the audience something like ‘Did I make someone give themselves a wedgie with a phone cord?’
“The correct answer is yes I did, many times on Skype where they want to do all these different tasks. So I will ask them what props they have around and they start to get very creative.
“I don’t even have to keep a straight face because they actually enjoy me laughing at them as it’s all part of the humiliation.
“I’m much more of a playful dom though – like a bratty princess – and make it sensual with a lot more teasing and denying. Basically I get to be just me.
“So if people like the sound of that then I might pick up new clients too.”
Florida-born Lane moved to New York to pursue a career in acting and train at doing improv before doing “sex work” to fund her studies.
The 38-year-old recalls: “I started out doing feet parties, where people would kiss and massage my feet – it made me feel way less objectified than when I was waiting tables.
HORNY
“I then began to do personal sessions and realised that this is just like doing improv but with horny men, which is basically what improv is anyway. There are so many similarities as you are just role playing.”
Lane then discovered the world of Findom, which she has specialised in ever since.
She explains: “The first time I had a client take me to the ATM one night and he said he would ‘put in my card and my PIN then you take over.’
“So I’m standing there with his bank balance open to me and you could see how exciting and thrilling and sexy that was – for both of us.
MONEY IS POWER
“I went for $480, figuring his limit might be $500. After that I discovered the hashtag Findom on Twitter with a whole community that’s blowing up.
“A lot more people are getting into it because being a dominatrix is all about your subject relinquishing power – and money is power, so it works out great for all parties involved.”
The most Lane has made for a day’s work is $7,500 – that’s almost £6,000.
She says: “I will now meet clients at an ATM wearing a Burberry trench with nothing underneath except lingerie.
LINGERIE
“When the bank account is open to me I open the trench and reveal the lingerie and then I take out $1,000 at a time. That’s all taxed though – everyone has to pay their taxes.”
Even with that amount of money changing hands Lane never has sex with her clients.
She says: “There are plenty of other sex workers who will have sex with their clients, but that is not my deal. That’s the beauty of sex work, you can find the niche that you’re comfortable in.
KINKY
“It’s all part of the dynamic, they want me to say no to them. They want me to make fun of them and tell them I’m totally out of their league and be humiliated. That’s what gives them pleasure in a really fun, kinky way.”
Most of Lane’s work is online, but isn’t it risky meeting clients at ATMs?
She admits: “There have been a couple of incidents. Once a client was trying to get me to stay in his hotel room and was drinking a lot and starting to get handsy.
LONELINESS
“I was like ‘Alright – I’m out of here.’ But just as I was leaving he let out the most guttural scream saying ‘I don’t want you to go’ it was out of pure loneliness.
“So really all he was seeking was company and he was fine in the end. But I am very good at being able to access people before I would meet with them to do a session.”
Lane kept her day job quiet for 10 years before finally telling her family.
HAPPY
She says: “Their response was ‘whatever makes you happy’ and also ‘let’s stop talking about it now.’
“They haven’t been to my show because it is pretty graphic stuff so it would be uncomfortable for them to watch knowing it’s their daughter.
“But they’ve been incredibly supportive and it was such a relief when I finally told them about it.”
Her boyfriend is also supportive of her Findom work too.
CLIENTS
She says: “He’s wonderful about it. I am also open with my clients about him and they know I’m in a relationship, which they like as it adds to the thought of me being unattainable.
“I did not meet my boyfriend through the day job though – he’s certainly not submissive.”
Anyone taking in Lane’s Edinburgh show next month will see a range of her racy outfits.
LUBE
She says: “I would normally wear a cute dress or lingerie for my bratty dominatrix persona, but then I started to wear latex for the stage show because that’s what people expect a dom to wear.
“But did you know you have to lube latex up to just get it on? It’s a big production. So now I have quite a big collection of Latex and have definitely used it for the day job as well. It’s fun.
“People are going to be in for what I hope is an entertaining show and if they like what they see, well,I’m always happy to take on new clients.”
*Lane Kwederis – Sex Job is at Underbelly at Bristo Square’s Clover Room at 2.25pm from August 2-28.
