On the Call Her Daddy podcast back in 2022, Fox opened up about her former antics as a dominatrix, which allowed her to explore her sexuality like never before. She said: “They could kiss my feet, I could smother them, maybe sit on their face with my panties but they will never ever be good enough for my vagina.”

Fox also shared what she discovered she likes in the bedroom away from the dungeon: “I’m weirdly into partner swapping and then watching more [foursome] vibes. I’ve never done it. In my other relationships, I feel like I’ve always been so jealous and so possessive. I don’t want to be like that in the future.”

She began working as a dominatrix back in 2008 as a 18-year-old high school senior who needed a job. Julia went on Craigslist under the “adult gigs” section and saw a listing for a “dungeon dominatrix”.

Fox wrote about the experience for GQ and said that the position required no experience or nudity necessary and after sending in her “most sadistic sexual fantasy,” Fox heard back straight away.

To prepare for her first day, Fox – who went by the mistress name Valentina’ – said she “pulled out a pair of fishnets and black pumps” as her first outfit. Julia has previously explained that the position paid up to $1000 a day while working in the dungeon, which housed all kinds of themed rooms.

She recalled what the “dungeon” was like: “You go downstairs, it’s a basement, there’d be all these different fantasy rooms. There was a medical room for a nurse-doctor fantasy, there was a torture room, another type of chamber, a cross-dressing room, a schoolroom, for any type of fantasy. It’s really like role playing, it’s like acting.”

Julia then said that when people ask how she started her acting career, she thinks it began in the dungeon “because she would have to improv multiple times a day on very short notice”.
