Kara Thompson, 29, who works as a mother-baby nurse, thought she had hit the jackpot when she scored a swanky-looking green velvet sofa.

Her husband, Myles, 30, runs a junk removal company, so the item came at no cost.

But after placing the new seater in their children’s bedroom, the parents decided to research the true value of the mystery freebie.

And they were shocked to find its true purpose – it was a bondage bed.

Kara, from Nashville, Tennessee, told What’sTheJam: “My husband was downstairs looking it up on Google and realised what its intended purpose was.

“We immediately took it out of their room. We were shocked!

“We always clean and check furniture before bringing it inside, but the logo for the sex couch was on the side.

“And [we] didn’t feel comfortable keeping something intended for that purpose in our children’s room.

“My husband picked it up from a job, he owns a junk removal company.

“We rarely keep items, usually we donate them to charities if they’re in good condition!”

After making the shocking discovery, Kara and Myles immediately moved the sofa to their spare bedroom.

Kara added: “We haven’t decided what to do yet, as of now it’s in our guest room until we figure it out.

“[We told the kids] that we would get them another couch but they couldn’t use this one.”

Kara shared her experience on her Instagram (@karathebabynurse), warning people to look up items before accepting them.

She revealed: “It was a sex couch.

“The pillow, you can unzip it to discreetly hide your toys. It’s got straps.

“We were immediately mortified.”

Users have been left totally shocked, with the viral video receiving over 1.2m views and more than 30,000 likes.

One person said: “Totally thought you were heading towards bed bugs or something and def not sex couches.”

Another added: “I never knew they made couches JUST for sex??? I feel so prude and innocent… UHM WHAT.”

Someone else joked: “Here I thought the warning was going to be about recalls for safety or toxic materials.”

Whilst a fourth chimed in: “That is NOT where I saw this story going – took a sharp 180°.”

Personally we don’t need it ourselves! Kara Thompson

Talking about the online reaction, Kara explained: “Some people agree with us that it seems inappropriate to keep it in our kid’s room.

“Some people think we should just keep it and it’s not a big deal.

“I totally don’t mind sex furniture and glad it’s out there for people but we personally don’t want it in their room.

“The good ole bed has never failed us yet personally so we don’t need it ourselves!”
