AUSTRALIA – One of the greatest cricketers of all-time, the late Shane Warne, spent plenty of time in the headlines for his off-field exploits during his sensational life.

Now a Melbourne dominatrix, who goes by the name Mistress Jane, has written a book detailing an infamous encounter she once had with the superstar.

There was typically just about as much interest in Warne’s private life as there was his sporting career before he tragically passed away at just 52 in Thailand in March of 2022.

Back in 2016, a story broke about Warne’s alleged appearance at a $400-a-head swingers’ party in Melbourne.

While the name Mistress Jane wasn’t published at the time, the single mum whose real name is Rebecca says she was the dominatrix in that headline-grabbing story and has defended her decision to reveal details of that party in her new book, The Dominatrix Next Door.

“The story is already out there; if you google “Shane Warne” and “dominatrix” you will see more than a dozen stories about this,” Rebecca told The Herald Sun.

“But this is my chance to tell my side of it. There are all sorts of different versions of what happened. Finally I’m telling it from my perspective.”

The 44-year-old Rebecca, who doesn’t like to use her real name, says she is now retired from the kink industry.

Back in 2014, prior to her rendezvous with Warne, Mistress Jane conducted an interview with news.com.au where she detailed her unusual career she has called “a quirky side hustle”.

She would dress up and work at private classes, hen’s parties and public workshops and show people how to spice up their sex lives.

One of the key lines that was supposedly revealed by another guest that attended that 2016 party was how Warne wanted the dominatrix to “whip her harder, she’s a brat” in reference to another female guest.

Mistress Jane was keen to clarify that story.

“It was sensationalised at the time in the press with him saying I should whip the brat and so forth, but there’s so much more to it and I have nothing but praise for him,” she said.

“It was actually a really lovely interaction.”

The legendary leg-spinner also complimented the mother of two on her “good arm” when she would discipline people in her Mistress Jane persona.

“When the spin bowler comes up to you and says you have a good arm, I just thought ‘how did I get here?’” she said.

“He was an absolute hoot and a true gentleman.”

Mistress Jane, who is launching her book next week, states that Melbourne has a “quite hardcore” reputation along with cities like London, San Francisco and a number in Germany.

She also stated her book is “for my grandchildren and about empowerment and feminism and owning your sexuality and not being ashamed of it”.

“I want to teach my kids that,” she added. “I’ll be like, ‘look what Granny did’.”

In a short YouTube clip about her book, Mistress Jane adds some extra detail about how she ended up in her chosen career and why she wrote the memoir.

“This is my memoir, The Dominatrix Next Door,” she says.

“This book I wrote as a love letter to Melbourne’s kink and queer community to shine a really positive light on all of the amazing people that you might find within that community.

”And really try and take away some of the stigma and the shame around kinky people, people who’ve fetishes, people who live alternative lifestyles, and show the fun side.

“I do that by telling my story. The one about the single mum who came up with a very quirky side hustle to entertain at hen’s parties and came out the other end as one of the country’s most recognised dominatrix’s, which wasn’t the plan, but my gosh it was a lot of fun.”
