UK – A Brit dominatrix has aired their concerns regarding the ‘world’s first’ Cybrothel as she fears it could see users begin treating sex workers “like a doll”.

The Countess Diamond has spoken out on plans to open the online brothel in Berlin, which features sex dolls and live voice actors. At 120€ for 30 minutes, the “future of sex” could be online.

But giving instant gratification through virtual reality could prove problematic for those working in the sex industry as the dominatrix fears real and living sex workers could be treated like dolls.

Future “ramifications” are being flagged by those in the industry, with the risk of replacing sex workers with online counterparts making consumers think they can’t say ‘no’.

Speaking to Mashable, dominatrix Countess Diamond said: “There is a question to be raised about the ramifications of consumers treating an experience with a human sex worker like a doll.

“When they’re using Cybrothel they can explore activities that wouldn’t be ethical/legal/safe with a human being. There is a risk of replicating these activities in a booking with a human sex worker.” There are also questions over how the dolls “may not ever say no.”

Countess Diamond added: “Depending on how Cybrothel operates, the dolls may not ever say no. The consumers therefore grow accustomed to sexual experiences where their every desire is met with enthusiasm, and won’t learn how to respect limits, adhere to boundaries set and accept ‘no’.”

Whether the dolls are capable of saying no or interacting in any way not to the benefit of the consumer is yet to be seen, though it sets a worrying standard.

A report from The Modems back in October read: “There are several ethical, social, and psychological concerns associated with the concept of a Cybrothel, raising questions about its potential negative impact.”

Avery Martin, a Clips4Sale spokesperson, warned the site would not be an adaptable replacement for “real sex” and that many people are attempting to capture their fantasies in a tech-made brothel.

Martin said: “Intimacy and attraction come in many forms, and they’re rarely as simple or straightforward as people think. There are so many variations on the fetish, from science fiction roleplay and fantasies of control to fembot domination fantasies.”

It comes as Cybrothel founder Philipp Fussenegger believes the online space is the “future of sex.” He said: “The audio and visual features create the effect we call ‘analogue AI’ to give the dolls a more elevated and playful character for real time interaction.
