BELGIUM/USA – HUMO’s film critic Erik Stockman chuckled as he watched the unruly thriller “Subservience” on Prime Video, starring Megan Fox as a kinky AI robot: “Things get pretty wild in ‘Subservience,’ but hold on to your underwear, because a disturbing darkness gradually creeps into the story.”

Megan Fox as an evil AI robot in a softly erotic sci-fi thriller with the debaucherous title “Subservience”? That’s what open-minded film fans like us happily turn on the flatscreen for! Let’s be completely honest: most film critics have lambasted “Subservience,” but we’re not shy about admitting we had a helluva time .
The story begins on a sad note: with his ailing wife Maggie awaiting a heart transplant in the hospital, Nick, a hardworking construction site manager, is home alone with his two tearful children. We let out a little cheer when we suddenly realized that Nick is being played by none other than Michele Morrone , the Italian hunk who plays the smacking pussy king Massimo in the Polish erotic Netflix franchise “365 Dni.” Because he could really use some help around the house, Nick spots an advanced AI robot in the store that (and what a bonus!) resembles one of those ravishing bikini models we constantly see on our Instagram feeds. (Sorry, we don’t quite understand why the algorithm always leads us to those kinds of reels ourselves.)
The salesman assures Nick that the robot is designed to make his life easier (“She cooks, cleans, and takes care of the kids”), but the inauthentic way she tilts her overly made-up head, lowers her endless eyelashes, and flashes an overly radiant smile makes it immediately clear that this robot will reveal herself to be a very unreliable nanny later in the story.
At first, everything goes smoothly: Alice (Fox) neatly folds the sheets, cooks lasagna, and prepares the baby’s bath. When she has a moment to spare, she stands patiently in the corner of the room like a butler, awaiting new instructions. In a dramatic scene, Nick discovers his robot wearing sexy lingerie, but the fun really kicks off when Alice starts teasing her owner. “I never get tired, I’m obedient, and I only want to fulfill your desires,” we hear her say as she pours him a glass of whiskey. “Let me know if you need anything else.”
The next shot shows Nick, visibly lost in unedifying thoughts, tapping his thumb against the bottom of his whisky glass three times (“Tok-tok-tok!”)—a scene we watched eight times in a row, with an ever-widening grin.
And then the best was yet to come: in the bathroom, Alice explains to Nick’s daughter Isla that she never needs to brush her teeth because she has an internal UV light that kills all bacteria. Alice then, to illustrate, opens her jaws wide and lets the blue UV light illuminate her gaping mouth: in our opinion, one of the best moments of the movie year 2025.
Three scenes later—and here comes a wicked spoiler—it happens: Alice lets her panties flutter to the bathroom floor, straddles the naked and blindfolded Nick, and starts humping him while, yes, imitating his wife Maggie’s voice. Wow, kinky! Yes, things get pretty wild in “Subservience,” but hold on to your underwear, because a disturbing darkness gradually creeps into the story (the heart surgery!).
Especially in the second half, “Subservience” increasingly transforms into an AI version of the horror classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” Let’s be clear, though: objectively speaking, “Subservience” belongs in the lower echelons of streaming services. The performances are abysmal, the dialogue is laughable, and even M3GAN sneers at the horrific plot holes.
And yet. M3GAN Fox and Massimo in the campy slasher version of ‘365 Dni’: if you’re into that kind of nonsense, you’ll be just as thrilled as we are with scenes like the one where Nick, caught in the act, tries to convince his furious wife that sticking his dick in a robot isn’t so bad after all. “She’s not real! She’s a series of circuits! She’s like that vibrator of yours!” You should have seen our inner UV light glow.
