Now, a Louisiana judge has ordered that the electronics of disgraced former Roman Catholic priest Travis Clark be returned to him.
Troubles for Father Travis kicked off on Sept. 30, 2020, when a passerby peeked through the window at Saints Peter and Paul Church and spotted the priest, along with dominatrixes Lady Vi and Empress Ming, having sex on the sanctuary altar.
Cops were called by the nosy parker who used his cellphone to capture the action. Officers arrested the trio and confiscated stage lights, recording devices, and sex toys.
The randy reverend pleaded guilty to obscenity charges.
Now, state court Judge Ellen Creel told law enforcement to erase all the data on the devices and storage media as a precaution against videos taken of the tryst being made public. The ruling also covers the priest’s playmates Lady Vi (also known as Satanatrix) and Empress Ming.
The videos have been under an indefinite court seal since 2020.
Clark’s lawyers said the judge ordered cops to return cellphones, tablets, computers, gaming consoles, flash drives, and memory cards they’d seized from the ex-priest while he was under investigation.
In the bombshell case, the dominatrices pleaded guilty to misdemeanours. It is not known if they sought the return of their electronics.
According to The Guardian, multiple sources said the video depicted a communion wine chalice being urinated in. In addition, the papers said Clark is depicted wearing women’s underwear and engaging in a sex act in a dorm on church grounds.
New Orleans archbishop Gregory Aymond had the altar burned and then consecrated a replacement.
Clark ended up serving some jail time after he was convicted of violating his probation terms by giving an interview to New Orleans’s NBC affiliate in which he explained the episode from his perspective. A celibate lifestyle and social distancing implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic left him lonely and wanting “human interaction.”
“Struggling and falling, sinning, too – priests sin as well,” said Clark, who voluntarily left the priesthood.
Lady Vi told Hustler last October that “trespassers filmed us without our consent. What matters is that we were consenting adults filming porn in a private location.
“But because we were in the (southern U.S. region known as the) Bible Belt and the building had mythical significance, it was deemed a crime.”
