USA – NEW YORK – A model left her Instagram followers sweating after sharing her hot and heavy workout — but it wasn’t the exercises that sent hearts racing.

“I love to sweat and I love to drive men crazy,” Yotta told Jam Press matter-of-factly.
The OnlyFans model and dominatrix is seen using several exercise machines at Gold’s Gym in Hollywood to strengthen her glutes as the camera zooms in to her
The video clearly excited many of her 638,000 followers: In a week, the video had accumulated more than 24,000 likes and hundreds of thirsty — and sometimes critical — comments.
“Hell, yes, people stared,” Yotta proclaimed to Jam Press. “I got five cell phone numbers and two clients for my dungeon.”
The brunette bombshell joined OnlyFans in September 2020 and has since turned her five — yes, five — OnlyFans pages into her full-time job.
“Men love me, women hate me — they think I just want the attention and they are right,” she said. “I am a slut and I love it.”
Yotta’s fans also seemed to love it. Her comments are filled with men drooling over the videos, leaving peach, fire and heart-eyed emojis along with her viewers lusting after her.
“I have never seen anyone workout in latex, this is so awesome!” one fan commented on the racy video, while another admitted, “Holy s – – t. I could not imagine this in front of me in a gym. I would stare and have zero shame about it.”
“I’m glad you don’t go to my gym because I’d never be able to concentrate on working out,” one more dazzled devotee declared.
One apparently jealous commenter suggested that her husband “is a very lucky man.”
Yotta’s hubby, German multi-millionaire Bastian Yotta, is actually the reason she first joined OnlyFans and has remained her biggest fan.
“It was a competition between my now-husband and I. We were like, ‘Okay, why don’t we try it and see who gets the most fans and who makes the most money in the first month?’ Okay, game on,” she told the Daily Star.
“We started with just our main accounts — his main account, my main account. We currently have five accounts,” she explained. Yotta now manages three for herself, her husband’s main one and the couple’s joint account, while her husband records — and encourages — all of her content.
And who knows where all of the popular content could lead?
“If I were the owner of that gym I would give you the membership for free,” one fan even suggested.
AUSTRALIA – Liberal candidate Katherine Deves believes there’s a link between cross-dressing men and trans women being “sexual predators, even serial killers”.
The candidate that Prime Minister Scott Morrison insists “should not be silenced” also believes that gay men who have surrogate babies are engaged in “human rights violations”.
In the latest unearthed tweets from her now deleted Twitter account, Ms Deves also suggests the “transabled” – people pretending to be disabled – “is a thing”.
“Didn’t (serial killer) Ted Bundy pretend to be injured to garner sympathy,’’ the Liberal hopeful wrote on September 4, 2021.
Just 24 hours after that post, she then suggested a link between cross-dressing and being a serial killer.
“Transvestism is very common amongst sexual predators, even serial killers,” she said.
“So how are we women supposed to tell the difference between the ones who are a threat and the ones who aren’t? Easier for women to exclude all males from spaces where we are vulnerable.”
Nominations close for political candidates on Thursday – the last date for the Liberal Party to remove her name from the ballot paper.
While transgender serial killers have been a popular trope in horror movies including Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960), Brian De Palma’s Dressed to Kill (1980), and Jonathan Demme’s Silence of the Lambs (1991), there is no known link with transvestism and being a murderer.
The mother of three also slammed surrogacy as a “human rights violation” in a social media post attacking the birth of twins to a gay politician in the United States.
“Surrogacy is a human rights violation,’’ she wrote.
“Women’s bodies are not vehicles for a vanity project.”
The men in the image that Ms Deves responded to were Pete Buttigieg, the first openly gay presidential candidate in the history of the Democratic Party, and his partner.
The transport secretary is a member of Joe Biden’s cabinet and was recently ranked by The Washington Post as the second favourite to be the next democratic nominee for president at the 2024 election.
The tweet that she responded to was by Mr Buttigieg on September 5, 2021, announcing the happy news that he and his husband Chasten, 32, had welcomed twins Penelope Rose and Joseph August.
“It’s been wonderful. It’s everything people tell you to expect and more. I think the biggest thing that’s surprised me is just how much joy there is even sometimes in the hard parts,’’ he said.
“It’s just amazing.”
In another social media post she says that reports of trans women inducing lactation to simulate breastfeeding were sick.
“In any other context this would be child sexual abuse and exploitation,‘’ she wrote.
In another new reference to the Holocaust, Ms Deves suggested those that fail to fight the move towards gender fluidity are no different to those that watched the trains go past with Jews to concentration camps.
“I have no doubt these people would imagine themselves to be part of the French Resistance in WWII – but no, they are the villagers who watched the trains go by, ignored the clouds of soot and smoke and joined the Party to get good jobs. They are complicit,’’ she wrote.
“But what I won’t allow, what I won’t allow, is for those who are seeking to cancel Katherine simply because she has a different view to them on the issue of women and girls in sport,’’ he said.
“I think Australians are getting pretty fed-up with having to walk on egg shells everyday because they may or may not say something one day that’s going to upset someone.”
GERMANY – Sarah Keller, 32, from Germany, claims sex work and being a police woman are similar and the only difference ‘is the uniform’. She was inspired after meeting prostitutes on the job
A former policewoman has revealed she spent seven years moonlighting as a dominatrix after being inspired by sex workers she met on the job.
Former police commissioner, Sarah Keller, 32, from Germany, is now a full time dominatrix and says the only difference in the jobs is the uniform.
Sarah, who goes by Calea Toxic when doing sex work rose to the senior ranks of the police while in her 20s.
But, after visiting a fetish party in 2011 a friend persuaded her to hang up her handcuffs and pick up the latex.
Having always been fascinated by BDSM, bondage and domination, Sarah lead a double life for seven years.
She investigated sex crimes and regularly spoke with prostitutes who would tell her about their lives.
But, Sarah’s desire to be a dominatrix was only furthered by their testimony.
And, while she was on her way to the top of the police force, the 32-year-old found images of her donning a long leather suit circulating at the station via WhatsApp.
And, her decision to get a boob job to increase her D-cup breasts to a 34F made her tenure difficult.
After 11 years in the police, Sarah left her job to be a full time sex worker.
She said: “I felt at home with the police and it certainly was a great job. But something was missing.
“I wanted to do the things in life that really give me joy. In my private life, I’ve always had a passion for BDSM. It gives me a satisfying feeling to lead people and exercise power.
“I had my breasts enlarged, put on flashy make-up and posted seductive pictures as well.
“I noticed that my lifestyle was becoming more and more different from that of most colleagues.
“Values such as owning your own home or saving for retirement were much less important to me than the aspect of feeling good in your own body and enjoying freedom.”
She added: “In some ways the jobs are pretty similar.
“You have a lot of responsibility. You have to guide and direct people.
“I guess the main difference is the uniform.”
Sarah has had recurring guest appearances in the best dominatrix studios in Europe, but also takes part in exclusive photoshoots.
Plus, the ex-policewoman provides a “bizarre escort service” for the “more solvent gentleman”.
And, she’ll help couples to push the boundaries of their sexual enjoyment.
With a growing Instagram following of over 26K, cover appearances on the fetish magazines Bedeseme, Darkside and Massad as well as being featured in a television documentary Sarah says she’s earning more than ever.
And, that’s saying something as a police commissioner in Germany can make upwards of £100,000 a year.
Sarah allows clients to try out their deepest desires and try humiliation role-play such as wearing a dog lead.
Sarah added: “Playing games with latex, whips and bondage allows me to disappear into a completely different place.
“On Facebook, Instagram and Twitter I can only give very limited insights into my life, so my OnlyFans is really important to me.
“For me, money is not the most important part of why I do what I do. I want to pursue my job independently and out of my own motivation.
“I work as professionally as a dominatrix as I did as a police officer.
“My guests enjoy letting go, giving up control and simply having a good time.
And Stacey Dooley, 35, does not disappoint in the new season of Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over with an elderly dominatrix and the woman classed as ‘Britain’s most hated woman’
In episode two of the third season Stacey finds herself sleeping over with a proud and successful 70-year-old dominatrix.
Sherry Lever, from Swindon, decided to take up ‘domming’ after her daughter encouraged her to pursue the career as she would make more money compared to her previous job, a phone sex worker.
The grandmother who goes by the stage name Mistress Sofia, runs her business from home and has her play room set up for customers in the family conservatory.
As it is a rather unique way to grow old gracefully Stacey didn’t hesitate when given the opportunity to discover more about the family.
Back in 2020 Sherry appeared on This Morning and explained how everyone of her customers are different, she said: ‘They all have their own agenda.’
She continued: ‘Some just do it because it’s a little quirk, others it’s a need, they need to be submissive’.
Stacey explored the family relationships and how Sherry’s career impacts their life.
During an interview with Stylist the Strictly winner shut down rumours that she doesn’t actually sleep over, she said: ‘People always ask if we actually stay over, but I promise you, it’s legit.
‘We get there on Friday and we don’t leave until Monday, we completely immerse ourselves in these families’ lives.’
Stacey also spent her weekends with Harnaam Kaur, a body positive advocate, and Clara Belluci who owns the title ‘Britain’s most hated woman’.
CANADA – QUEBEC – Quebec Public Health put their foot in their mouth on Thursday afternoon when the daily COVID-19 update on Twitter linked to a Pornhub fetish video, instead of the usual breakdown of pandemic case counts and infection rates.
See larger photo and audio podcast on: Mtlblog.com.
When visitors clicked the link in the original tweet, they were taken to an amateur porn video titled “Femdom feet worship.” The 10-minute film features a lot of heavy sighing while someone in a mask kisses and sucks on toes.
The link stayed up for around half an hour before it was finally taken down. Public Health then tweeted an apology that claimed the link was posted due to “a situation outside of their control.”
The Health Ministry said it is looking into the reason why the inappropriate link was posted.
Right now, the Pornhub video in question has just over six thousand views and a 91% approval. It remains to be seen if those numbers will shoot up like some expect the province’s COVID-19 numbers to do over the long weekend.
USA – Spanking therapy uses spanking as a form of release. People may choose to take part in spanking therapy to release stress and responsibility, explore power roles, or work through negative emotions or trauma. However, there is limited scientific research on spanking therapy and its effectiveness.
Spanking therapy has no exact definition, but people may class it as any form of consensual spanking under BDSM, which stands for bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadism and masochism (SM).
Individuals may also class it as any consensual BDSM spanking to release certain emotions or work through issues, such as trauma.
People may use it for relaxation or the release of power, responsibility, negative emotions, or trauma.
According to an article in The Journal of Sex Research, people may engage in spanking therapy for a range of reasons, such as :
Power play: People may find it sexually arousing to play with power roles, such as becoming dominant or submissive. Others may also find it freeing to release responsibility and power in a controlled environment.
Spiritual experience: Some people report that SM practices alter their state of consciousness, providing them with a sense of connection, wholeness, and mind expansion.
Stress release: Individuals may find similar benefits from spanking therapy as those from mindful activities, such as meditation.
Escapism or sense of adventure: People may find spanking therapy a way to change their routine and elevate their experience from mundane or everyday matters.
The authors also note that some scientific theories suggest that SM practices, such as spanking, may help some people heal from trauma.
Reclaiming or relinquishing power through the act of spanking may help some people regain psychological control over past traumatic events.
However, a person may wish to consult a mental health professional before engaging in spanking therapy to help heal from trauma.
According to a 2020 article, BDSM, particularly SM practices, may offer therapeutic and soothing effects for some people.
The research also suggests that SM practices may also provide similar psychological benefits as meditation. These benefits may include increased concentration levels, reduced mental activity, and relaxation.
Anecdotal sources also report that spanking therapy may help:
Clear communication is important, so the practitioner understands what people are hoping to get out of the session and the acts with which they can remain comfortable.
A spanking therapy session may involve the following:
a warmup session to get the body prepared
discussing any injuries or physical concerns
what the person hopes to get out of the session, and at what point it will end
agreeing on safe words or actions to stop the session at any time
whether people will keep their bottom clothed or not
During the spanking therapy, a practitioner may use a hand or paddle to offer different sensations.
After the session, the practitioner will check in with how people are feeling and allow time for them to process the emotions that may have come up.
Spanking therapy requires skill, and people without training may not be able to carry it out safely. However, if individuals wish to try spanking therapy with a partner, they may want to speak with a trained spanking therapist first for advice or training.
People could also learn from sex parties, classes at sex shops, online tutorials, or books.
Discussing consent
Before engaging in spanking therapy or any sexual activity, it is important that individuals discuss consent, boundaries, and expectations with their partner.
Consent is an ongoing process, and a person can change their mind and withdraw their consent at any time.
To ensure those involved are comfortable, people should:
The following are answers to common questions about spanking therapy.
Is spanking therapy always sexual?
Spanking therapy is not necessarily sexual, and some people may see it in a similar way to other forms of physical therapy. Others may see it as a more ritualistic experience.
According to a 2015 article, people may take part in BDSM activities such as spanking for nonsexual reasons.
Individuals may find it provides a new experience and a release from their everyday selves and responsibilities.
Why might people like being spanked?
People may enjoy spanking for several reasons, such as:
the release of power and responsibility
relaxation
stress relief
the release of trauma or negative emotions
altering their state of mind
A 2019 study looked at how Canadian university students thought about BDSM practices, with 60% of male participants and 31% of female participants having positive thoughts about whipping or spanking.
Where can a person learn more about spanking therapy?
If people want to learn more about spanking therapy, they may wish to:
read articles or books on the subject
talk with a sex worker trained in spanking therapy
Instead, the 47-year-old will be getting her rope, feathers and vibrators ready as a number of curious men swing by to experience a steamy session with a dominatrix.
Sandy, who spoke about her unique line of work on this week’s episode of Metro.co.uk’s Smut Drop podcast, found herself focusing on fetish and sex work quite by chance – and is now looking to empower women entering the industry with her own mentoring scheme.
Here, she tells Metro.co.uk how she turned part-time webcam work into a six-figure dominatrix business…
‘I’d been a personal trainer for nearly 18 years, but when I came back to the UK three years ago following a stint living abroad, I couldn’t really find a job. A friend of mine suggested I could do some webcamming – performing sex acts on video and internet live streams.
To begin with, I genuinely didn’t even know what that was. I did some research and found Adult Work, a platform I’m on now.
While I was scared to be starting from scratch at 44-years-old, I had no money and no job so I knew I had to go for it. Just one month later, I was bringing in a really decent wage just camming part time.
Within months people were asking whether I did dominatrix work, so I began thinking about whether I’d want to see clients face to face, and decided to invest in proper lessons so I could learn how to be a dominatrix safely.
I went to the London Dominatrix School in Marylebone. Taking place in an immaculate apartment, the course was taught by someone who was really experienced and had been in the business for many years.
I paid £200 an hour for three or four lessons, which included corporate punishment and impact play, where you learn how to hit the body safely while still causing discomfort. I also learned shibari, which is the art of bondage tying, and then I learned some cock and ball torture. It was best to learn in a safe, controlled environment and be taught by a professional.
Transitioning from webcam to face-to-face bookings was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done.
One reason was because the fetish industry gets such a bad rap – people who don’t understand think it’s weird and disgusting. And there was definitely fear going from just sitting on my bed, doing webcam here and there and then being in front of someone in a new setting surrounded by equipment, offering a service they pay a lot of money for. But I was lucky that the people I learned from were industry gurus in their own right, and I picked things up quite quickly.
I charge £170 for an hour, or £250 for 90 minutes. The most common thing that clients ask for is ‘tie and tease’ – that’s usually restraining and blindfolding with some sensual play. I’m not considered an extreme dominatrix – a lot of people who come to me just want to try it out. I often combine the more traditional domme services with more sensual routines because a lot of clients are still uncertain and want to try it out.
Another popular service with clients is strap-on sex. Some men like anal sex and anal play, and may be scared to ask their wives. There’s that element of shame around it: men don’t ask because they don’t want to be seen as gay. But they’re not gay – they don’t want anal sex from a man, they want it from a hot woman. They want to see my boobs and my face and my body.
Some men just feel like they couldn’t ask their wife to put a strap-on on, because she’s the mother of their kids and they just don’t see her in that way.
As someone who has had kids, I do understand that your child becomes a priority. Men are needier than we think they are, and they feel a bit neglected. Women can also lose confidence after having a baby, and that can be another turn off.
I’d say 80% of my clients are married or in relationships. I think some women would be horrified if they knew what some of their husbands are doing. Some wouldn’t he able to handle their other half dressing up in another women’s underwear and receiving anal pleasure. It’s alien to vanilla relationships. It’s hugely frowned upon and unaccepted, and it’s something that stays under the radar a lot of the time.
Some clients have told me that seeing me is keeping their marriage going. I don’t know if their wives would quite see it that way. Some also say their wives know that they come to me.
As a general rule, I don’t ask about their personal life, and I don’t tell them about mine. I keep the boundaries quite clear.
The age of my clients range from quite young to men in their mid seventies. As I’ve got an adult son myself, I don’t feel it’s right for me to go below a certain age. I draw the line at 28, but I have had boys as young as 21 try and book me.
I would say I’ve probably got five semi regular clients between the age of 65 and 75. I find elderly gentlemen tend to be a lot more respectful and polite. They’re my preferred client, if I’m honest.
You absolutely need friends in the industry when you’re doing this, as some days can get weird pretty quickly. I had an extreme submissive once that said he wanted me to put a plastic bag over his head and be suffocated.
I’ve had muscle worship sessions, where people really like muscly women and they like to be dominated in a headlock or I might arm wrestle them.
Once I did it to a client and he suddenly went limp. It was quite a hot day and he just fainted, so I snapped my fingers in his face and he quickly came round, saying he didn’t really realise what had happened. There’s definitely occasions where things don’t go to plan and it can completely throw you off your script.
I do want to start a mentoring women in this industry so I can help them have the same positive experience I’ve had.
My advice for anyone considering it is to not be frightened to say no. If you’re not comfortable doing something, don’t do it. And just enjoy it. The last three years have been crazy: I’ve built a six figure industry from being a dominatrix, and I want more women to feel empowered while doing it.’
Dr. Olivia Snow, an adjunct college professor in New York City and tech researcher at UCLA and NYU, is virally blasting the food delivery behemoth — claiming it arbitrarily discontinued servicing her due to her part-time gig as a leather corset-donning dungeon domme.
“It’s dehumanizing,” lamented Snow, 33, to The Post. “Sex workers bend over backwards to conceal our identities in order to [be treated fairly by mainstream society],” she continued. “And these big tech companies use special software and AI (artificial intelligence) to sniff us out and block us from their services.”
For eight hours, three times a week, the Ph.D.-holder straps herself into silky fishnet stockings and skin-tight lingerie and sexually dominates revelers with a penchant for corporal punishment.
But when it comes to enjoying contactless services like DoorDash and PayPal, she says major tech imprints have unjustly tied her hands.
In a trending Twitter post, Snow — who’s sporadically moonlighted in erotica for 15 years — castigated DoorDash for apparently banning her patronage due to a detection of unspecified “abnormal behavior” from her account, which allegedly violates the brand’s Terms of Service. But she told The Post that she’s never confronted a DoorDash delivery person in her dominatrix garb, nor has she shared the details of her profession with any of the company’s drivers.
However, her tweet, shared Tuesday, featured a screenshot of DoorDash’s vague dismissal email. And she spiced the post up with a sarcastic caption, saying: “love too be a wh0re” — written with a zero rather than an “O.”
And Snow said that the misspelling was no mistake.
“Social media sites and tech companies use various AI to monitor keywords that people type on their platform and into other apps,” she explained. “So I have to strategically misspell words pertaining to sex work in order to avoid getting my accounts shadow-banned or deactivated.”
When contacted by The Post, a spokesperson for DoorDash said: “While we have not been able to verify the posting online, we have reached out to this individual for more information and are actively investigating.
“Users are welcome on the DoorDash platform, regardless of a person’s profession or choice of work, and are required to follow our terms of service,” the representative added.
Nonetheless, Snow further claimed that cyber giants like Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, Airbnb and a slew of popular dating apps have also banned her and other sex workers from utilizing their services.
“Airbnb is uniquely creepy when it comes to surveilling sex workers,” she asserted. “I believe they use software to spy on sex workers and they cross-platform surveillance software to monitor what keywords sex workers are typing into other sites. They go above and beyond to find us out and block us.”
Snow, who’s purportedly done extensive research on the technological mistreatment of sex workers, went on to claim that Airbnb and the like use location data and text-tracking hacks in order to pinpoint sex world staffers and ban them.
However, in a statement to The Post, an Airbnb rep denied that company’s alleged prejudice, saying: “This is false. Sex workers are not prohibited from using Airbnb on the sole basis of their occupation.”
Snow, however, predicted the brand’s rebuttal.
“These tech companies will never admit to what they’re doing,” she said. “And even though Airbnb has specifically said that they don’t target sex workers, they do.”
But more frustrating than the organization’s denial of any bigotry, according to Snow, is the fact that the general public refuses to believe that these major online platforms are specifically targeting sex workers.
“It’s very difficult to get people to believe the qualitative data that proves sex workers are being [marginalized],” the saucy scholar said. “People always ask me, ‘Are you sure it’s cross-platform surveillance?’ And I’m like, ‘I am sure because I do this for a living,’ ” she added, noting her work in higher education and research.
And as a shame-on-you to the tech companies, Snow added, “When companies non-consensually out us [sex workers], and block us from enjoying basic human necessities, it feels really violating. There’s no justification.”
USA – It’s time to make official what many of us already know to be true: that the ex-dominatrix, artist, photographer and actress is one of pop culture’s most fascinating figures – and a riotous paragon of celebrity.

As the old saying goes: “a cat has nine lives; for three he plays, for three he strays and for the last three he stays.” This feels like a proverb self-professed “New York classic”, muse du jour and multi-hyphenate Julia Fox has so far modelled her own life on, having packed more into her 32 years on Earth than many of us will in an entire lifetime.
Born in Milan, Fox’s early childhood was largely spent in Italy with her grandfather. Then she moved to New York City aged six and quickly claimed the Big Apple for her own. She started clubbing at 14 and, by her own admission, has been fired from every day-job she’s ever had. Since then, Fox has been a regular fixture of NYC’s art scene, carving out a reputation as the ultimate good-time girl with an everything-but-carefully-cultivated public image. And that’s just how she likes it – even though she’s now a bit sick and tired of the club.
Although she broke into the mainstream after starring in the Safdie brothers’ 2019 hit film Uncut Gems, Fox further tumbled into the collective consciousness with a serious bang back in January, as one half of the most talked-about romance in recent memory (who could forget that legendary diary entry, published via Interview magazine, detailing her and Kanye West’s whirlwind date night?).
While some may have dismissed Fox as nothing more than Ye’s rebound, following his messy breakup with Kim Kardashian, make no mistake: she’s so much more than a bit of arm candy. Fox is an artist, a photographer and ex-dominatrix who lives and breathes her chaotic craft. Right now, it feels like she’s the only celebrity who’s celebrity-ing properly, from her viral DIY denim get-ups and dramatically smudged eyeliner to legendary one-liners and one truly mesmerising TikTok rendition of Lana Del Rey’s Video Games. She’s giving us drama, theatrics and looks aplenty. Most of all, she’s giving us something to bloody talk about, all while being a single mum.
Undeterred by the often cutting court of public opinion, Fox ploughs on in her pursuit of self-expression, no matter what shape that might take. For now, it looks as though she’s working on a memoir, which is as yet unfinished but promises to be “a masterpiece”. And so, to celebrate one of the most fascinating celebs of our time, behold: a timeline of Julia Fox’s greatest moments.
April 2014
The launch of Franziska Fox
23-year-old Fox makes one of her first forays into fashion with this luxury knitwear brand, created in collaboration with her best friend Briana Andalore. Fox and Andalore hit it off at a party, during a time when Fox took her pet cat everywhere… Even parties. She channelled the spirit of her dominatrix alter-ego Mistress Valentina into Franziska Fox, telling Elle: “I really wished to propose a novel concept for knitwear, a form of dressing that I am most passionate about, and also to have a collection that is unafraid within today’s fashion landscape, in regards to the female form and intellect.” Given Franziska Fox’s Instagram page is no longer available, the brand is most likely defunct by now.
November 2015
The Playboy feature
Fox was photographed by Greg Manis in what would become known as the magazine’s last-ever nude issue. How’s that for impact? It’s almost impossible to find images from this shoot without artist Michael De Feo’s sweet flowers painted on top, but the originals can still probably be uncovered in some dark corner of Reddit.
October 2015
The publication of Heartburn/Nausea
Fox’s first book is provocative, autobiographical and positively Larry Clark-esque. It’s filled with collected artefacts from Fox’s life, such as polaroids, iMessage screenshots, fun facts and plenty of nudes, all of which are used to make sense of experiencing three abusive relationships. Now, it’s reached cult status in the world of underground zines, with people flogging it online for serious cash. “The message is that it’s OK to be fucked up. It’s OK to have a past. And more importantly, it’s okay to show your vulnerability and your weaknesses,” Fox told writer Rose Holtermann about the book’s making-of.
May 2016
The publication of PTSD
At this point, Fox was no stranger to living life on the edge at any given time. Her second photobook captured “an all-consuming six-month love affair with a sadomasochistic prostitute named John” – AKA John Holland, a member of Salem, the polarising witch house electro-rock band (yes, really). PTSD is as NSFW as it gets, featuring nose bleeds and needles alongside evocative landscapes, like a bonfire burning at dusk or a statue looking up towards a cloudless blue sky. The whole thing was a product of six months spent deep in Louisiana bayous, an experience she later recreated in an exhibition at Magic Gallery in New York. “I just love feeling things. I usually know when something is going to end up being catastrophic but I don’t really care,” Fox said. “I find that the things that end up being earth-shattering are the things that give me the most thrill.”
March 2017
The debut exhibition, R.I.P. Julia Fox
As you can probably guess by the title, Fox heavily flirted with themes of death for her debut solo art show in New York, which was inspired by a near-death overdose she experienced at just 17. Curated in collaboration with her longtime friend Richie Shazam, it also explores eroticism, fetish, and how these themes relate to rituals and sacrifices. Naturally, a key part of the exhibition was Fox smearing her own blood on silk canvases (she extracted it with a syringe). “It wasn’t as bad as it seems,” she told HuffPost. We’ll take her word for it.
November 2019
The Barbie photoshoot with Pete Davidson
Do magazine photoshoots hold potential to predict the future? Looking back on Fox’s 2019 shoot with Pete Davidson for Paper, we’d reckon so. Dressed up as a plastic fantastic Barbie and Ken, this seemingly random pairing hinged on the fact that Fox was about to launch her acting career in Uncut Gems, which was produced “by one of Pete’s good friends”, Sebastian Bear-McClard. It made for a striking set of images, as a dolled-up Fox cradled Davidson’s head on her lap. But no one could have foreseen the tabloid chaos the pair would ignite two years later, when they became the new love interests… for the recently split Kimye.
December 2019
The feature film debut in Uncut Gems
Fox played red-hot jewellery shop assistant Julia in the Safdie Brothers’ restless, unbearably tense film, arguably launching her mainstream career as an actress to be taken seriously. The role was written for her: “they’d been talking to me about this role for five years or something,” she told THE FACE. “Always telling me how perfect I am for it, and every few months they would send me an updated script, or ask me if I had any input in developing the character. I didn’t realise the magnitude of Uncut Gems at the time. I just thought:‘Oh, an indie movie that my friends are making.’” And the rest was history.
February 2021
The directorial debut with Fantasy Girls
The ultimate New York multi-hyphenate, if you think Fox would be content with simply starring in Netflix blockbusters, publishing books and posing for Playboy, you’re obviously completely wrong. “I have one short film under my belt, which we just submitted to festivals,” she told Paper in 2021. Don’t we all, eh? Said film was Fantasy Girls, which Fox wrote and directed, telling the tale of a group of teenage girls who get caught up in a Reno, Nevada trafficking ring. Inspiration struck when she visited the city with no plan in place other than knowing that she wanted to make a film. “And then I met all these young girls between the ages of 13 – 15 and I knew they were stars,” she explained. “After speaking with the guardians, I found out how child sex trafficking and kidnappings are so frequent there that they don’t even report them anymore, so I knew that I could draw attention to this cause I’m passionate about.” You can catch it on MUBI after you’ve de-stressed from rewatching Uncut Gems.

The Kanye West fling
“I met Ye in Miami on New Year’s Eve and it was an instant connection,” began Fox’s self-authored account of her blossoming relationship with Kanye West for Interview, which was perhaps the boldest and most provocative way to announce a hook up in recent memory. Titled “Date Night”, the piece detailed how they’d met at his surprise gig in Miami and got along so well that they decided to fly to New York to watch Slave Play. Then Ye apparently directed a photoshoot for Fox in the ritzy Italian restaurant Carbone, after which he gifted her a whole new wardrobe. “It felt like a real Cinderella moment,” she gushed. After that, the pair were inseparable, shutting down fashion week in skin-tight leather and keeping us gossips busy.

… And the break up
“All good things must come to an end,” said, er, lots of people over the course of history and, alas, Fox and West’s relationship did not escape fate. After days (or weeks? It was all such a blur…) of rumours, Fox confirmed that the pair had split on Instagram stories, hitting back at a Daily Mail article that claimed she was “tearful” after the break up. “I have love for him but I wasn’t w the man,” she wrote. “Jesus Christ, what do you guys think I am, 12 years old?” Then to top it all off, Fox claimed that she hasn’t cried “since 1997”, so… when she was seven. Hard as nails, our Julia.
In a later interview with The Cut, Fox went on to explain that she was actually doing us all a service by flaunting her relationship with Ye so publicly. “Celebrities are not that fucking important. You can tell us about your stupid fucking date,” she said. “We’re in a pandemic. Give people something to talk about. Do your fucking service, do your job.” Finally, someone who understands the assignment.

The “Uncuh Jaaahms” moment
Moving on swiftly, Fox went on the Call Her Daddy podcast to chat… actually, we can’t remember. Anything that was said on the podcast was epicly eclipsed by a short snippet that went viral, in which Fox compares being Kanye’s muse to being Josh Safdie’s muse on Uncut Gems. But no one with a TikTok account says Uncut Gems anymore. Thanks to Fox’s insane vocal fry, which she later put down to being stoned during the interview, the new official way to pronounce the film’s title is Uncuh Jaaahms. We don’t make the rules, Julia does.

The “masterpiece” book announcement
The latest viral moment that Fox has gifted us occurred at last week’s Oscars, where she let us all know that she’s working on another book. What’s it about? Wouldn’t you like to know, nosey. “I don’t want to give too much of it away, because I’m very superstitious so I don’t like to speak of things before they’re finished,” she told the red carpet interviewer. What we do know is that “it’s so far a masterpiece,” according to Fox herself. And the book’s concept is apparently ever-changing. “It was a memoir at first, but now it’s just like my first book, you know?” she said. New York Times bestseller incoming…
GERMANY – A German dominatrix, identified only as Ute B., has been fined more than £6,000 for making sick snuff films that saw her kill 30 mice by causing their bodies to burst with her feet
A dominatrix has been fined more than £6,000 for killing 30 mice by stamping on them and causing them to burst open as part of a sick fetish.
The woman, identified only as Ute B., 48, had been persuaded to make 41 videos of “feeder mice” – intended to be fed to snakes – being stamped on after experiencing financial difficulties after her divorce, a court was told.https://get-latest.convrse.media/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailystar.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fweird-news%2Fdominatrix-crushed-30-mice-feet-26610502&cre=top&cip=3&view=web
She was tasked with crushing the mice to death using boots, high heels or ballet shoes, cause them to burst, then being rubbed with the shoe she used.
The dominatrix admitted her role in the video also possession of three child pornographic images, which she said had been sent to her by a client as part of a role play.
The District Court of Wuerzburg in the south-eastern German state of Bavaria fined her €7,200 (£6,060) and her cameraman Oliver R., EUR 6,300 (£5,310).
Prosecutor Jonas Compensis told the court: “It was the accused’s task to crush the living mice to death with boots, high heels or ballet shoes, with particular emphasis being placed on the animal’s body bursting open and then being rubbed with the shoe used.”
B.’s lawyer, Ulrich Ziegert, admitted it was an “ugly thing” and claimed his client was in financial difficulties following her divorce proceedings.
He said B. had been persuaded by an acquaintance to make 41 videos of “feeder mice”, which had in any case been intended to be fed to snakes, being stamped on.
The cruel acts were discovered during a raid in July 2018 by cops probing extortion charges she faced.
Police inspector Klaus W., 58, said: “It was an accidental find. A victim had filed a complaint against Ms B. in Hof for extortion. It was a financial domination thing, where eight victims were supposed to pay her extortion money.”
She was spared jail by judge Thomas Behl when she appeared before the court.
But she is due back in court accused of blackmailing clients by threatening to send embarrassing photos of them in women’s underwear to their families if they failed to make her payments of between €2,550 (£2,150) and €11,000 (£9,270).
B., a trained hotel manager who currently works at a sauna facility, has previously been handed a fine equivalent to 90 days of pay in 2017, after the District Court of Horb am Neckar found her guilty of extortion.
She portrays herself as an animal lover in social media posts.
NEW – ZEALAND – Police are investigating the use of Jacinda Ardern‘s image in a strip club’s online marketing, which could lead to it copping a massive fine.
Calendar Girls NZ posted a provocative meme on social media of a semi-naked dominatrix with the Kiwi prime minister’s face transposed.
The post has led to a New Zealand police investigation.
The woman in the image was wearing underwear, straps and buckles and holding a whip.
The Facebook post, which was published on Friday, was accompanied by a caption, ‘Special guest today only!’
The Wellington strip club deleted the post on Saturday after complaints, stuff.co.nz reported.
Visitors to the page said the photo was disrespectful to Ardern and the club’s employees.
‘I feel sorry for the women who work for you, this shows you have a horrible attitude towards women and consent,’ a visitor to the page wrote.
It is understood to be an offence under New Zealand’s Harmful Digital Communications Act to share a naked or semi-naked image of a person online without their consent.
That includes images that have been edited to appear as though a person is in them.
NZ police confirmed it had received a complaint and was investigating.
The maximum fine a company could pay for an offence under the act is $200,000 or $50,000 for an individual.
USA – PHILADELPHIA – The most Instagrammable (and arguably sexiest) experience in Philly is located inside a two-bedroom, one-bath home right off Roosevelt Boulevard.
Dubbed The Hottie House, this Northeast Philly Airbnb is marketed as “WAP inspired.” It’s designed to host a pretty unique set of activities: bachelorette weekends, lingerie and thirst trap photoshoots, or your first encounter with a dominatrix.
A stay at this cutie crib will currently run you around $167 per night — not counting cleaning fees, of course — and availability appears to be open from mid-April until the end of June.
The house is the project of a local, 26-year-old creative director, makeup artist and YouTuber who goes by the name Siren Redd across her ventures. Think of the space as a mix between a photo-op centric experience (like the new Museum of Illusions) and a classic photo studio, with the goal being to inspire content as much as be enjoyed in a vacation.
“I write and direct and contract for Philadelphia models, artists, and businesses,” Redd, a Delaware native who has been working with Philly talent for the last two years, told Billy Penn. “Originally, I created the space because I felt like it was so hard to find sexy content spaces for the style of my videos and photos.”
Sexy is definitely the operative word here.
The Hottie House comes with plenty of standard Airbnb fare, like a fully stocked kitchen, toiletries, and a dossier of nearby amenities. But it also offers stuff you’d sooner find on the set of a 2008 Lil Wayne video than a hotel room.
The space opens with a bright affirmation mural painted by local muralist and designer 7GOD. Want that extra boost? “I am hot, I am paid, I am sexy,” the wall shouts at guests in bold black type-face.
Each bedroom has a distinct vibe. The first is jungle-themed, with a neon sign over the bed frame welcoming you to the jungle (in case you forgot). Vines drape from the ceiling and the walls are patterned over dense, tropical foliage. Per social media posts, it also appears you can rent a snake.
The master is called the “Lovers Dominatrix Bedroom,” complete with a stripper pole, a custom heart-shaped bed, and a set of dominatrix toys (the Airbnb listing notes they are “props only.”)
The apartment also comes equipped with content creation essentials, such as ring lights, full body mirrors for fit checks, and plenty of neon to set the mood for your photo sesh. (We’re thinking red for boudoir shoots but green to show off your new reptile collection from IllExotics).
Redd said the majority of bookings so far are for personal use, but she designed the space with the up-and-coming artist in mind. The other side of the Hottie House is a creative concierge service, where Redd coordinates prop rentals, video and photoshoots, and even creative direction.
“I made the house for me, but I put it on Airbnb for everyone to use it,” she said. “It’s very hard to find content spaces that have that sexy, vibrant vibe, and not everyone can afford to have a set built from scratch.”
Redd began storyboarding the Hottie House around 6 months ago, and the goal was to mimic the aura of Cardi B and Meg Thee Stallion’s hot girl anthem, “WAP.” In the fantastical, borderline surrealist music video, Cardi and Meg walk through a mansion filled with aphrodisiacs: animal print, reptiles, and titty-shaped fountains.
The Hottie House is similar, albeit more realistic. It cost about $13,000 to paint, style, and refurbish, Redd said, and she handled most of the manual labor herself. Many of the selfie walls came together like standard craft projects, with Redd ordering materials on Amazon.
Redd told Billy Penn she curated art throughout the house from Philadelphia-area artists. Guests can scan a QR code upon entry that can provide them with details about each creator.
Looking to spice up your Hottie House Experience?
Redd said she can provide video shoots, massages, a private chef, and — yes — exotic animal rentals. She also said more services and amenities are coming soon.
Redd does, however, caution that the space isn’t for everyone, so pearl-clutchers and offline boyfriends need not book a reservation.
“The house is for girls’ trips,” Redd said, “the sort of situation where people think everything can be an Instagrammable moment.”
ITALY – A twisted food blogger has told police he filmed himself as he brutally killed a porn star whose dismembered body was found in bin bags by the side of a road in Italy this month.
Davide Fontana, 43, kept the camera on his phone rolling as he battered victim Carol Maltesi, 26, with a hammer while she was naked and tied up to a stripper pole with a bag on her head before he slit her throat.
He then told shocked officers he waited a day before trying to burn the mother-of-one’s face to disguise her identity and then buying a saw to dismember her body into 15 pieces.
Fontana, who also works in a bank, then bought a deep freezer from Amazon and kept her body in four bin bags at his home before dumping it on a verge.
The remains of Carol, who turned to pornography during the pandemic to support her child, were found earlier this month by a passer-by at Borno near Brescia who was shocked to find her severed hand inside.
She was identified after police revealed details of her distinctive tattoos and she was recognised by people who had seen her adult work on Only Fans.
Carol was last seen in January, but Fontana carried on using her phone and sending messages to give the impression she was still alive, even paying the rent of the flat where she lived nextdoor to him in Rescaldina near Milan.
ANPR cameras saw him using Carol’s car near Borno earlier this month when he dumped her body.
He then went to police to try and throw them off the scent by giving them ‘information’ about her disappearance.
But officers became suspicious of him and arrested him.
He later broke down and admitted he had killed Carol, who also went by the screen name Charlotte Angie, as they made a violent porn film together.
In his leaked confession Fontana said: ‘We were supposed to make two films, with the second one being more violent. It was the morning of the January 10 or 11 and we were in her house.
‘We finished the first film and then we went to the bedroom where there is a lap dancing pole. I tied her wrists to the pole and put a plastic bag over her head.
‘She was completely naked and I also tied her feet up. I had a hammer and started hitting her on her body, not hard, starting from her legs.
‘Then as I worked my way up I started to hit harder until I got to her head.
‘I don’t know why I did it, I don’t really know what happened. She was still moving her head but I carried on hitting her.
‘Then I suddenly realised what I was doing. I took the bag off her head, I thought she was dead, there was a lot of blood and she was badly hurt.
‘I didn’t know what to do so I grabbed a kitchen knife and slit her throat. It was an act of kindness; I could see she was suffering.’
ontana told cops he had deleted the videos from his phone but forensic experts are examining it’s memory card to try and recover the gruesome images.
Carol, who had previously worked in a perfume store, had turned to pornography during lockdown to make ends meet and support her six-year-old child.
Colleagues told local media: ‘We knew what she did but she wasn’t ashamed. She had made her own mind up and wasn’t coerced. It was her private life.’
One neighbour said: ‘Her and Davide were an item for a while but then split up. They seemed to get on well afterwards.
‘She had split up from the father of her child, he lived elsewhere and he had their son, but the little one would come and stay every now and then.
‘My child and him would play together in the courtyard. No-one can believe what’s happened.
‘I know she had family in Holland because she had told me and she had gone there for Christmas.
‘She had even spoken about moving there but nothing had come of it. She was a lovely, kind gentle woman and a devoted mother.’
Fontana is currently in custody and due to appear in front of an investigating magistrate accused of aggravated murder as well as mutilating and hiding a corpse.
A police spokesperson said: ‘This is a shocking case and some of the officers themselves have been left very upset at the details they have heard.’
Take, for example, South Africa. Although it’s a country of awe-inspiring history, culture, and cuisine, it’s not particularly well known for its BDSM scene.
Recently, I was fortunate enough to discover Mistress Baton. A South African-based Dominatrix, disciplinarian, and well-established producer of BDSM content.
The scene was a big hit amongst my readers with a penchant for S&M, and not just because of Mistress’ caning skills which she honed with training from various specialist punishes ranging from an SA Correctional Services caner and a SAPS cancer.
“This particular BDSM implement is so severe and infamous, that it is outlawed in certain countries like Spain.”
The question on many of your lips was: “What an earth is that divine caning instrument in her hand?”
To answer that question, I called upon the knowledge of Mistress Baton herself. Today, she will lead us by her skilled and disciplined whip hand to explore the fascinating world of the Sjambok and other BDSM tools from the heart of Africa.
The Sjambok: The notorious African whipping stick
Other names: Sambok (Afrikaans), Imvubu.
The Sjambok is sometimes called a type of whip, which is misleading – It is a rigid and stiff implement – quite the opposite of a whip.
It was traditionally made from hippopotamus or rhinoceros hide. It has been used for centuries by cowherds and wagon drivers, to drive large cattle on the African plains. Additionally, it is also used to look for and drive away snakes in the long grass.
During the Apartheid era in South Africa, rubber sjamboks were used to break up riots by the Apartheid police, sometimes causing deaths.
These days, plastic sjamboks are most commonly used and most readily available – it’s even sold here in South Africa at traffic lights at intersections! Typically from a mixture of heated plastics bonded together.
It is widely used in informal township courts, by Oqonda (township vigilantes) in South Africa, to significant effect. Mostly on youths who steal, use drugs or sell drugs.
During the transition post-apartheid, some Comrades (left-wing activists or particularly militant supporters of the African National Congress) became what you call ComTsotsi: a slang term used to describe a Comrade with criminal element motives.
There was a DC, a Kangaroo Court, and the sentence was commonly 50 lashes. This was seen as a solution to get rid of that criminal element to a Comrade.
A particularly dark fact about the Sjambok involves Adolf Hitler. The former dictator of the Third Reich was said to be so fascinated by Sjamboks that it was borderline obsessive.
It’s also said that Hitler imported sjamboks from South Africa and was rumoured to have quite a collection.
Another variation of sjambok variation is the “Lerala” (Sepedi/Northern Sotho). This was a leather implement crafted as a flexible stick and used to punish specifically men who raped/stole/etc.
The wooden spoon in BDSM
Other names: Paplepel (Afrikaans) or Ukhezo (Zulu).
This is an implement primarily used as a swift form of justice on small children in the kitchen across South Africa. In BDSM circles, they’ve found a new role for lovers of impact play.
When used in BDSM play, a wooden spoon can achieve a quiet but forceful impact on a sub. This often results in a rather intense stinging sensation.
Tree Switches for Birching
Whipping as a form of corporal punishment goes back to the Medieval era in the British Isles and was commonly used to enforce discipline or enact punishment, particularly in the military.
In 1862, Victorian courts were granted access to Birching. This form of corporal punishment saw victims struck repeatedly, often on the behind, with a bundle of leafless tree switches, twigs or branches.
Birching was only entirely outlawed in the UK in 1962, although the self-governing Isle of Man only repealed the law in 1993. It has since found an active role between consenting fetishists in BDSM.
But it is not only the British who have a fondness for tree switches and Birching in BDSM! It is widely used in South Africa too. The trees mainly used here, where we don’t have birch trees, are fruit trees like peach and apricot or willow trees.
Other names for the birch in South Africa:
Uswazi (Zulu/Swazi) – thin switch
Induku (Zulu/Swazi) – thick stick
Umqaqongo (Xhosa)
Umpetshisi (Xhosa) – twig from a peach tree.
Umpentshisi (Zulu) – peach tree branch.
Moperekisi (Sepedi/Sotho/Tswana) – peach tree switch.
Bulls Pizzle whip
Other names: Bultrilsambok/beespielsambok (Afrikaans), picha de toro (Spanish).
This is made from the cured, dried and stretched skin of a bull’s penis. It is a type of Sjambok, though it’s shorter, less pliable, more rigid and more sinewy than a sjambok.
Historically, the Bulls Pizzle Whip can be traced back to the 16th century. Stemming from the Dutch word for “sinew” (pees), the modern name is said to derive from the Low German pesel or Flemish pezel.
Traditionally, these implements were used for moving cattle. But they were also widely used as protection against thieves and pickpockets in other countries, such as Spain.
They are made from a slaughtered bull’s penis which is stretched out before being left in some water to naturally expand. Finally, it’s left in the sun to dry out.
The Bulls Pizzle Whip is so severe and infamous, in fact, that it is outlawed in certain countries like Spain.
African whips
Whips are widely used throughout Africa and are used primarily on livestock. But it is not uniquely South African like the other implements in this guide.
Anecdotes overheard during research:
“Isitswebhu – normally used to whip livestock, but stings ever so bitterly on your ankles. Made from plaited leather with a wooden handle.”
“Umqaqongo – teachers at primary school would ask the older boys to bring sticks, they knew who brings the fattest, bendiest, hheyi futhi!”
“Umpetshisi – twig from a peach tree. My babomkhulu (father) had this trick of hiding it in his back, inside his red PPE coveralls to ambush us with.”
“Ukwipili/cane – some high school teachers claimed to buy their canes from Enduduzweni, a home for the blind in Umlazi.”
“Kgati – this is a slender (very bendy) tree branch that is/was used by men in the mountains to teach each other some lessons. I’ve done this with my friends and I went home with a couple of wounds but you should’ve seen the other guy.”
“Mozacha – this is what my mother used to Moer (beat) us with. It is normally picked from a shrub tree and the target spots are legs and everywhere else magriza thinks will effect more pain.”
“Lepara – this is a dried thicker tree branch crafted into a walking stick by the elderly. Rakgolos like pointing stuff with this thing, and they’ll swing it to you fast. I still have a scar on my hand for a fall I took fleeing from this thing from an old Pirate supporter madala in Mbombela whose parking I stole with my lightning-fast Golf around 2011.”
They make a delightful, sickening dull thwack when it hits the target. I love the sound it makes almost as much as the involuntary sounds emanating from people when I use it on them.
Why involuntary? Some pain is too great to contain, it cannot be endured in silence.
A sobering summary to these types of whips used for BDSM punishments in Africa
In conclusion, Africa is a continent that is never short of surprises and discoveries. Its criminally underrated contribution to BDSM implements like the Sjambok is just one of them.
When it comes to explaining these divine whipping implements in accurate native detail, there are few people who are qualified as Mistress Baton.
As well as being a highly respected figure in the BDSM scene, Mistress Baton sells hippo hide sjamboks made by a South African master craftsman to fetish connoisseurs with a taste exotic implements made with exquisite quality.
To discover more of her unique fetish content, inquire about obtaining a handmade hippo hide sjambok, or test your limits in person during one of her notorious BDSM sessions, you can reach her at mistressbaton @ gmail.com.
The director of the Civil Aviation Authority cancelled the man’s Air Traffic Control Licence following an inquiry, where it was alleged he was handcuffed to his chair while on duty in the control tower while having sex with a married woman, the New Zealand Herald reported.
The decision was appealed and a judge has ruled in favour of the man, finding while he did have sex while on duty, it wasn’t as risky as the director believed.
Judge Chris Tuohy found the man hadn’t been handcuffed so was not physically prevented from doing his job, following a three-day hearing in the Wellington District Court in December 2021.
The judge imposed strict suppression orders, meaning the man and other parties cannot be identified, and neither can the location of his workplace.
An affair between the woman, who lived in another part of the country, and the man, who was also married, began in early 2017 after the pair met on a dating website.
The sexual liaison between the pair involved pre-planned meetings at hotel and motels and was uninhibited, including an exchange by text of short videos and consensual recording of their sexual activity.
While the duration of the relationship was disputed, there was no argument it had ended before the woman texted the man’s wife to disclose the affair. His marriage broke up.
The woman later called the man’s wife detailing how the pair had sex in the control tower and how she had performed a sex act on him while he was handcuffed to a chair in the control room.
Concerns were raised with the CAA, which launched an investigation into the allegations.
The woman repeated her claims about the sexual encounters, including having handcuffed him to a chair while he worked in the control room, to the investigator.
A decision to suspend the man’s ATC licence was conveyed to him in December 2018 and, in March 2019, notice of a proposed decision to revoke his licence was made.
In an interview in February 2019, the man admitted the affair and said he had been alone in the control tower with the woman on three separate occasions during two days but denied sex had taken place.
“He acknowledged that [a sex act] while he was in handcuffs had occurred during the sexual relationship but in a hotel room, not in the control tower.”
He also detailed how the woman had tried to blackmail him by threatening to ruin his life if he didn’t pay her $50,000.
The CAA director recorded that “on the balance of probabilities” he believed the woman’s account and was concerned by the man’s risky behaviour while he should have been focused on what he was doing.
“He categorised this behaviour as highly irresponsible, intolerable and demonstrating extremely poor judgment.”
The decision to revoke the man’s licence was made mid-2019, and was subsequently appealed.
While Judge Tuohy said he had reservations about the woman’s credibility and reliability, he maintained her core allegation the pair had sex in the tower while the man was on duty was inherently plausible.
The evidence was however not sufficiently strong or cogent to satisfy the judge of the most serious aspect of the allegations, that he allowed himself to be handcuffed in his chair while on duty.
“The appellant voluntarily engaged in distracting behaviour which must have impinged on his capacity to react but, in my judgment, it is not sufficiently proven that he engaged in the even more risky and irresponsible behaviour of allowing himself to be physically prevented from doing so.”
Judge Tuohy ruled it had not been established the man was not a fit and proper person to exercise the privileges of his ATC Licence.
“I have reached that conclusion despite my finding that he did undertake risky behaviour while on duty, although not quite as risky as that which the Director relied upon.”
The judge had taken into account the relatively short duration of the man’s behaviour, it was unlikely he would engage in such behaviour in the future and his successful and incident-free career as an air traffic controller spanning many years.
Judge Tuohy reversed the CAA director’s decision to revoke the man’s ATC Licence.
