Her all-black look screams chic.

USA – It’s been a minute since I loved an outfit as much as I love Queen Letizia’s latest masterpiece. It’s a simple combo, but therein lies what I love. Current fashion trends certainly lean more maximalist, and while I love a bold, out-there combo, it’s not the usual approach I take when piecing together a look. The Queen of Spain’s simple, unfussy, though extremely chic ensemble is much more up my alley, especially because it also shines light on the sexy shoe trend Amal Clooney, 48, and Taylor Swift, 35, wear, too.

Queen Letizia was photographed in Madrid attending an event for World Cancer Day 2026 in an all-black look that’s my blueprint for late-winter, early-spring dressing. She wore a fitted black sweater dress, which she cinched at the waist with a thick leather belt (so edgy!). She styled the elegant base with a wool coat, which she threw over her shoulders, a black top-handle bag, and last but certainly not least, the sexiest knee-high leather sock boots.

Here’s the thing; tall black boots are a classic winter shoe, but honestly, I think they’re even more so a spring staple. Cool temperatures combined with a desire to wear shorter hems come late March calls for functional, stylish footwear—and sock-like knee-highs offer this. They provide ample leg coverage without wreaking havoc on an outfit. Plus, the taller shaft allows you to forgo tights—personally, I’m not a fan of tights anyway (just me?).

What’s more, tall black boots are edgy yet sexy; they’re also incredibly versatile and truly ageless. A slew of celebs are on board with the dominatrix-style boot game, including the aforementioned Clooney and Swift. Of course, given the fact that the style now has a queen’s stamp of approval, I predict even bigger things for it in spring 2026. Mark my words: All the cool girls will be trekking around the world in variations of tall black boots, from picks with chunky soles to elegant kitten heels.
