FLANDERS – In a spacious villa in sunny Los Angeles, Alex Agnew and Andries Beckers welcome a famous guest every week . In episode 6 of ‘Welcome to the LA’, Daphne Agten paid a visit.
Who came to stay?
Daphne Agten (35): actress, media personality, spokesperson for polyamory and, with one exception , the Smartest Person in the World of 2024. She made her first trip to America for this, she had never even been outside Europe before, and she mainly hoped to experience a lot of ‘weird stuff’ . Alex and Andries exceeded her expectations, making for the episode with the most WTF moments so far.
What was on the program?
Las Vegas, baby ! But the gentlemen thought it wise to learn how to play cards first. So they went to visit Mikki Mase , a young man who has earned millions playing baccarat, a variant of twenty-one. What Alex and Andries didn’t know is that Mase, an odd guy with tattoos extending into his earlobes and tufts of hair in the shape of hearts on his bald head, is now also pursuing another career path: that of a porn filmmaker.
During the tour of his villa, they encountered one scantily clad porn star after another. One of those ladies gave Alex a welcoming kiss, after which he stammered: “You have a beautiful, uhm… voice!” While he and Andries retreated, blushing, Daphne did the opposite: she asked those girls to strip off their meager clothes. And they, in turn, were so pleasantly surprised by Daphne’s genuine interest in their field of work that one of them offered to spank her breasts, and Daphne accepted with squealing pleasure. It would take quite some time before they remembered why they had originally come to visit Mikki Mase.
And that wasn’t even the steamiest part: that evening, Zach , a shibari specialist , came to their villa to let Daphne sample this refined Japanese form of bondage. Daphne closed her eyes and surrendered completely to Zach, who sensually wound a single long rope around her bosom and between her lips. The gentlemen watched on from the sofa, captivated. “You were practically dancing,” Andries said afterwards. “It was beautiful to watch.”
By the time the tour party arrived in Las Vegas, nothing really surprised us anymore.
Were any confessions made as well?
Daphne spoke without embarrassment about her open relationships (‘Of course I sometimes feel a pang of jealousy when I hear that one of my lovers is with someone else’), her surprisingly intimate friendships (‘I have buddies I sometimes sleep spooning with’), the naked sex scenes in ‘Holy Rosita’ (‘The script clearly stated exactly who had to put their hand where’), her grandmother (‘A cougar who sometimes leafed through the Kama Sutra’), and more.
There was one topic she did not like to talk about: her weight. Hesitantly, she explained that her build has cost her acting opportunities to this day. ‘I simply don’t get asked for the role of “woman,” because they look for a neutral woman: not too tall, short, fat, or thin.’ She also reluctantly admitted that shopping in America was a relief: finally, clothes in *her* size. She didn’t want to say more about it, for fear of criticism. ‘I can already hear the reactions in my head: “Why does the world have to adapt to whales like you?” Or: “Of course they have clothes in your size in the land of obesity.”‘ Alex looked her in the eyes and said sincerely: ‘They can say what they want, but I think you are a beautiful person, Daphne Agten.’ Amen.
Who is the guest next week?
Cosmologist Thomas Hertog : the least known guest, but for that reason not the least interesting. After all, how many Belgians can look back on a long-term collaboration with Stephen Hawking ? Thomas will pilot a light aircraft and teach his hosts how to look at the stars.
